In order to further strengthen cooperation between the two universities, expand areas of cooperation, and deepen the content of cooperation, on December 28th, our university held a "Seminar on Deepening Cooperative Education between Henan University of Technology and the University of Reading, UK" in Conference Room A606 of the administrative building. Li Huanfeng, Vice President of HAUT, Dr. Cheng Qiaofen, the person in charge of the China Cooperative Education Program at the University of Reading, and key leaders from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the School of International Education, the School of Grain, Oil, and Food, and the School of Bioengineering attended the meeting.

On behalf of the university, Li Huanfeng extended a warm welcome to Cheng Qiaofen's visit and highly affirmed the 20-year practice of China-foreign cooperative education between our university and the University of Reading. Li Huanfeng stated that the successful experience of the two universities in undergraduate talent cultivation over the past 20 years has laid a solid foundation for us to continuously deepen our cooperation. Facing the new situation in the development of higher education, he hoped that the two universities could seize the historical opportunity, promote innovative cooperation models, and further deepen cooperation in areas such as discipline construction, scientific research, and multi-level talent exchanges and visits among talents with bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, thereby achieving comprehensive and multi-channel integration, innovation, and mutually beneficial cooperation based on China-foreign cooperative education between the two universities, and striving to make the cooperative projects between the two universities a showcase for China-foreign cooperative education projects in Henan Province and even the whole country.

Cheng Qiaofen first thanked our university for its strong support for the China-foreign cooperative education projects between the two universities over the past 20 years. She mentioned that it was also the expectation of the University of Reading to continue strengthening cooperation between the two universities and expanding areas of cooperation. Close cooperation between the two universities in research project applications, laboratory construction, joint master's and doctoral training, etc., will be of great significance for the two universities to continue and maintain their good partnership for a long time and will surely push the development of the two universities to a new level.

The participants from both sides conducted frank and thorough discussions on specific issues related to promoting comprehensive cooperation between the two universities, conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges on various cooperation activities that the two universities will carry out in the future, and put forward constructive suggestions on how to ensure practical and efficient cooperation between the two universities.

After the meeting, both sides expressed that the cooperation achievements of the two universities over the past 20 years were hard-earned, and both sides have the responsibility and obligation to continue to work hard on this basis. This seminar was necessary and timely, and it further enhanced mutual understanding and trust between the two sides. The two parts will jointly create a new pattern of China-foreign cooperative education cooperation between the two universities, which will surely make greater contributions to the internationalization of both sides.
