On February 28, our university and Deggendorf Institute of Technology in Germany jointly organized an online signing ceremony. President Wu Zhishen and relevant staff of International Exchange and Cooperation Office of HAUT attended the signing ceremony in Conference Room A606 of the Administration Building. Prof. Waldemar Berg, President, Prof. Heigl-Murauer, Vice President of Deggendorf Institute of Technology, Mr. Liu Guoshi, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation of our university, as well as persons in charge of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Information Science and Engineering and other relevant units participated in the signing ceremony at the venue in Shanghai. The ceremony was hosted by Liu Guoshi.
At the stage of the talks, President Wu Zhishen firstly made a brief introduction of our university's running characteristics, talent cultivation, scientific research, and open school-running strategy. He emphasized that Deggendorf Institute of Technology is a famous public university of applied sciences in Germany, which enjoys high reputation in the field of engineering and technology. He hoped that the signing of this contract could be the starting point of the cooperation between the two universities, which would lay a good foundation for the future in-depth cooperation in the fields of academic and cultural exchanges, joint cultivation of engineers, and cooperation in the development of research projects.
Afterwards, President Waldemar Berg briefly introduced the advantageous specialties, talent cultivation characteristics and achievements in the field of industrial applications of Deggendorf Institute of Technology. He said that as a highly internationalized public university in Germany, they attach great importance to the cooperation with high-level engineering universities in China, and hoped that the two sides could carry out more cooperation in the training of engineers in the future.
At last, both parties signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) after full discussion and agreement, and formally established the partnership. It is believed that with the joint efforts of the two universities, a bright future of win-win cooperation will be realized.
It is reported that Deggendorf Institute of Technology in Germany currently has eight colleges and 15 technical research campuses in civil engineering and architecture, applied economics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and mechatronics, applied natural sciences and industrial engineering, applied health care, etc. The quality of its teaching and application of research results is remarkable, and it has been awarded a number of academic prizes and has established research and cooperative relationships with more than 500 enterprises, such as BMW, Siemens, Bosch, and UPS.
